Because the first edition of the year is the support for broad forecasts related to the developments of Romanian thermal insulating joinery market, it can be said that in the absence of reliable information, analysis in this regard can only be based on public sources such as those provided by institutions specialized in economic forecasting. Especially for medium-term projections relating to production of carpentry, the starting point is statistical data certified by the office Eurostat Prodcom, excerpted from some codes relating to the actual annual production of joinery. Summarizing these information, at the level of 2014 (the most recent financial year for which complete data are available), the national production of carpentry exceeded 4.17 million units, valued at 308.5 million euro. From information certified by Eurostat for 2014, respectively according to the rates of increase in the volume of construction works announced by the National Commission for Prognosis – CNP, could be establish a series of predictions on the evolution of quantity and value of joinery production in Romania. Hence, the total production of carpentry in Romania could climb to 4.43 million units, worth 327.6 million euro at the level of 2015, and reach in the current year 4.66 million units and about 345 million euro. For 2017 all the available information indicate an amount of 4.93 million units, corresponding to 365 million euro and one year after the domestic production will total 5.24 million units, totaling 387.6 million euro. Finally, in 2019 these indicators will be 5.58 million units and 412.8 million euros, exceeding the perspective of a new psychological threshold value. As regards the categories, from a quantitative perspective, the current odds indicates the predominance of PVC joinery (with 89.7% of the total), followed by assemblies of aluminum (4.7%), wood (4.3%) and steel (1.3%). By value point of view, this levels are relatively close to those specified in the most recent edition of Top 500 Manufacturers, prepared by the specialists of Fereastra magazine. Thus, based including on the Eurostat authorized source, it results that PVC windows/doors from PVC have a share of 75.9% of the market, 11.5% hold the aluminum systems, wood assemblies arrive at 8% and the steel to 4.5%.
