Being not only a permanent player in the international market of equipment for fenestration industry, but also an initiator of new developments and a synonym for high quality, technological leadership and service elumatec AG continues to impress its partners with new products and innovations. To ensure that this remains valid also in the future, the German company is constantly working on improving the offer in every way possible. This is possible by a continuous assessing of capabilities, requiring learning and ceaseless development of competencies. The company keeps investing in its own staff and equipment as well as in R&D and this enables it to initiate and actively shape important change processes. Next, Nebojsa Wosel, Regional Director of elumatec for South-Eastern Europe, emphasizes some important aspects in the company activity which are considered important including for Romanian market.

 

How would you describe the present financial situation of the company you are managing?
In elumatec's first year as a PLC ("elumatec AG") in 2014, total turnover was almost 116 million euro. A year later, the company broke through the 120 million euro barrier, and in 2016 turnover was around 125 million euro. Turnover in 2017 was more than 130 million, representing a further increase compared with the previous year. The European and Asian markets showed particularly strong growth in 2017, a positive trend which was largely the result of the new SBZ 122 and SBZ 628 developments, although demand also increased for double miter saws. Further exciting developments in 2018 include the SBZ 141 and, in the second half of the year, the SBZ 151 Edition 90.
Which are the main benchmarks of elumatec strategy especially regarding Eastern Europe?
At elumatec we do not know the meaning of standing still. While our machines have always set the standard, we have never rested on the laurels of our success. Our focus is on constantly perfecting own products, making proven technology even better and guaranteeing quality and durability for our customers. Whether copy routers, double miter saws or profile machining centers, at the core of all our machines remains the original idea, adapted to the requirements of today's market. Special anniversary SBZ 151 Edition 90 profile machining center: The all-rounder redesigned, eluCloud ready and with a new-generation control system, ergonomic control unit and an optimized clamping concept. As an added benefit, elumatec and Stürtz Maschinenbau GmbH provided practice-oriented insights into various degrees of automation for PVC profile machining at their joint trade fair booth at FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2018. Production facilities for the craftsman business up to fully automated industrial operations featuring capacities ranging from 30 to 300 windows per day.
What improvements do you intend to implement in the future to fortify your position at international level?

Which are the main measures you adopted to minimize the negative impact of the recent economic crisis?
Today we are not only a permanent player in the market, but also an initiator of new developments. elumatec stands for high quality, technological leadership and service. To ensure that this remains so in the past and future, we are constantly working on improving our products in every way possible. Therefore, we continue to invest in our staff and equipment as well as in R&D. This enables us to initiate and actively shape important change processes. The eluCloud product group comprises four different modules and an app which makes the eluCloud functions accessible worldwide from a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC. With this app, the user can check up on the status of machines operating in the plant back home with a smartphone while travelling. For business travelers, the app is like a pair of binoculars which allow developments at home to be recognized in advance. Being well-informed, it is possible to react quickly if deviations from planned schedules arise. The four eluCloud modules are called eluCloud Monitor, eluCloud Server, eluCloud Analytics and eluCloud API.
What horizon of expectations do you have regarding the evolution of the European fenestration industry, in general?
I think the window market will continue to develop well, as we noticed at our elumatec Tech Days (inhouse exhibition) and the interest in the fair FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2018 in Nuremberg. The mood in the market is very positive. The construction industry is booming. At our Tech Days, we had over 1,300 visitors coming from all over the world.
Name several elements you intend to give a momentum to the sales.
The 4-axis profile machining center SBZ 141 is the new top model in the SBZ 14x series. It was carefully developed in line with the requirements of elumatec customers based on market observations, yet in an astoundingly short period of time. The machine bed of the SBZ 141 is more stable and ergonomic and the autonomous clamp positioning is a new feature. It allows more efficient cycling of the machining steps thereby reducing pass-through. With the use of linear technology, elumatec has accommodated current market needs in the revision of the SBZ 609 PVC downstream center. Furthermore, the design of the hood and the control panel has been optimized with a view towards more efficient operation. The fast downstream center is intended for reinforcement screw driving with parallel drilling and routing of cut-to-length profiles for window and door manufacturing with and without steel reinforcement. With its portal design, the SBZ 609 is ideally suited for high profile cross-sections and process-optimized throughput. Simultaneous reinforcement screw driving is made possible by an offset screw driving station which provides additional efficiency for workflow processes. In the classic elumatec product glazing bead saw GLS 192, the clamping equipment has been revised and two new frame systems on the glazing bead saw offer the option of cutting without extraction. As an alternative, an integrated extraction nozzle allows connection of an extraction system. The GLS 192 is equipped with special saw blades which allow simultaneous undercutting of the glass bead profile. A double cut in which two glazing bead profiles are cut simultaneously also presents no problem. The sawing operation is carried out automatically and the GLS 192 is operated by means of a foot switch.
